The goal of this contest is not to find the best coder, but to enjoy coding together and to motivate others to start coding. If you can write a "hello world" program in any language, you are welcome. There will be certainly someone to help you to solve the tasks.

We will use the following example problem to make us familiar with the contest system.

Sample problem
Mr. Foo has to determine if his students have passed the year. As he has many students which have written many tests, he can't use his calculator, because it would take him too long. He knows that you are a skilled hacker, so he has asked you to make a program to automate his task.

He has S students. Each student has written N tests. The test scores ranges from 0 to 60 (both inclusive). A student has passed his year if he has an average score of more or equal to 30. The average is not rounded.

Input
You are given an input file. The first line consists of 2 integers: the number of students S (1 <= S <= 1000) and the number of tests N (1 <= N <= 1000). S lines follow, which consists of N integers, representing the scores of a student.

Output
You have to create an output file which contains one line per student. Each containing 'PASSED' if he has passed his year, otherwise 'FAILED'.

Input example
4 2

29 30

30 30

50 60

0 58

Output example
FAILED

PASSED

PASSED

FAILED

Minutes
As always, please feel free to contribute to the minutes and to make amendments.

privacy of source.hacker.lu
It was voted for leaving source.hacker.lu openly and fully indexable by crawlers.

bar tap board overuse & consequences for not respecting cleanliness of space
In both cases, it was convened on a case-by-case trial. The person concerned should be invited in front of the administrative council, accompanied by the person who vouched for him/her on the membership application form. Matters should be discussed face-to-face and solutions primarily be proposed by the person standing "trial".

working groups status update
* Faccat promised to make a serious proposal for the cleaning issue until January 8th. In the meantime, the insurance contract should be concluded.
* Pubrel presented the idea of moving to wordpress for blogging software.
* Evdev: Mich is preparing a table for organising those helping out on the Chrëschtmaart.
* Server reported the successful upstream fix of a mediawiki bug.

toolset workshop announcement
No announcement was made, due to lack of the workshop leader.

graffitiresearchlab.lu
Solved by Steve buying the domain.
Topics
* Air conditioner
* Working Groups
* More regular workshop/projects
* Getting to know people

Minutes
Air conditioner
It has been concluded that Mexx should see if he can bring his air conditioner. We will have to see whether that works at all. Another solution might be simple ventilation.

Working Groups
Three to four working groups will be introduced and people are expected to join at least one, at most three groups.

Regular Workshops and Projects
People have been invited to suggest more workshops. Also, it has been suggested to more actively point to community projects like for examples Syn2lights.

Getting to know people
It has been deplored that space members don't know each other or their occupations too well. In order to resolve this issue, it has been suggested that every member be interviewed and that we have some sort of cocktail party or similar. Mich has volunteered (sort of ;)) to do the interviews.
* Where to put it? Do we have enough space?
* Where to store the acids?
* Syn2Sign
* Discuss further handling of security@lists.hackerspace.lu and the mallory project.
* New wifi key
* ChillyChill
** investment on building the bar (also future blinkenlights extension)
** organizing transport for more new furniture and kick out the old fridge
** discuss room arrangement
** wall paint? which color? where?
* Syn2Sat are we allowed to put dish on roof?
* new syndi.hackerspace.lu Web/Mailserver (share with C3L? [cf. sysops ml])
* Selling drinks...
* layouts for the member cards
* Treasury
* Old Rack

Minutes
Syn2Sign
Where signs? ADHS ok, probably no problem. On the building? Current state is difficult to see.

Number 11 on facade: how to fix? => Use the round windows for displaying 11.

The top border of the building is probably metal. Magnetically fix a sign there. Design will be handled in the Syn2Sign project.

Idea to put little life-gliders everywhere. not really.

Maps in the bus-stops could be updated with the hackerspace location => ask commune/AVL/JCD.

Recreate sign every year cheaply instead of an expensive one. Banners (callico).

Illuminated sign has to be done. Buying will be too expensive.

Has the ADHS sign been created by commune? Ask Grun signalisation for their prices.

Syn2Sign project split in several sections for every sign (street, building...)

Use the blends to spell syn2cat by using reflective tape?!

security@lists.hackerspace.lu
Move list to the c3l environment, as syn2cat is probably not the best place hosting it.
People are invited to get pgp keys signed (by david&georges) because the list will only be allowed to signed pgp keys.

New wifi key
Has to be changed as it's used for changing alarm.
Not too complex.
* Short-term: Passphrase by using first letters?
* Long-term: 802.1x radius server?
* See Network for details.
Ask sim0n or Kwisatz for new wifi key!

ChillyChill
* investment on building the bar (also future blinkenlights extension)
:where to get diffuse plexi-glas?

* organizing transport for more new furniture and kick out the old fridge
:new furniture is available, can get asap.

* discuss room arrangement
:seems to be ok

* wall paint? which color? where?
:currently some neon tubes are there. to be put as indirect lighting.
:kitchen: move whiteboard to other room and paint wall with magnet paint.

Syn2Sat
Are we allowed to put dish on roof? Will start after chillychill is finished.

Meeting with Strassen will be end of april.

Join us if you are interested in sat stuff!

new syndi.hackerspace.lu Web/Mailserver
Current hoster sponsors the hosting cost by having their ad. So investment will be one-time.

Also rent VMs to other clubs?

Server issue is to be further discussed on sysops mailings list.

If anyone is interested in one of the VMs, please come forward.

Selling drinks
There is no club where the buvette is done by another organization than the one doing the infrastructure. This looks like problems.

The council will have another round of debates on this.

Layouts for the member cards
will have a mag stripe for experimentation

the nickname (login in the wiki) will be on it as a barcode and of course the new logo, maybe the PGP fingerprint (40 chars).

Treasury
We don't have any treasurer. steve is overbooked.
We need one. Georges Toth proposes himself.

Old Rack
The new rack will get the equipment from the little mobile rack. So the old one goes where. Just on the trash?

And the new? In the hall (need rack keys) after asking the commune.

misc
* plastic for maker bot has arrived.
* the two sgi machines for the museum arrived.

March 6th, 2010
Topics
* Membership cards
* Chemical lab
* Wall colors (Blackboard and magnetic paint have already been bought!)
* MakerBot
Minutes
RepRap or Makerbot?
Reprap is complicated to build as it needs quite some special tools we don't have (yet). Makerbot is more expensive but can be assembled more easily. And once we have a makerbot we can still use that to create a Reprap out of thin air (well, or... almost).

Chemical lab
Need a table which is not sensitive to chemicals. Some glass panes to contain eventual fumes (from etching, soldering and anything else making smelly smoke) and an extractor to remove the fumes.

Membership cards
What layout? The new logo of course, with the name, a barcode which may be used for the library and a magstripe for people to play with. The layout should have syn2cat and user's name on both sides so the card can be used as badge on lanyard.
The Warzone Project
What is the Warzone Project?
The Warzone Project is an attempt of PS:One and HacDC to create a Darknet, which connects all Hackerspaces at the world.
The idea behind this is to build up a Community "Platform" for the hackerspaces. A place where they can share their files, connect to each other and so on
and not using other services, where we don't know what they're doing with our data and to keep our privacy.
But also to create a sandbox for IT-Security researcher, where they don't have to worry about compromising another one's system and information and
to have some "CTF" fun.
The networks of dn42, ChaosVPN and Agora Link are already participating in this darknet.

So, the Warzone is the sandbox of this darknet for CTF, Security Research Groups, Hackerspaces and all kind of people interested in IT-Security.

So how will syn2cat participate in this darknet/Warzone?
So, the first idea is to join the darknet, to become part of the big international community of hackers, sharing files and so on.
A problem is the Warzone:
We don't have enough people (and mostly experienced people) to actually participate in the Warzone project yet. So, to actually do something
in the direction of IT-Security, the idea was to organize so called "workshops* where we get together and work together to learn one specific thing
of IT-Security, organizing talks and so on. Because, learning in a group and learning from talking with other people, is by far more productive than
simply reading a book, alone in the corner of your house.

So when are these workshops?
So, first, please give me times and dates, where all of you interested in the Warzone Project, have time to come by, so that I can build a timetable.

In accordance with Art. 13 [[#Notes|[0]]] of our statutes, you have hereby been formally invited to participate in an extraordinary General Assembly which will take place

on Sunday, February 28th 2010, 3pm at the Hackerspace in 11, rue du Cimetière in Strassen, Luxembourg

This is a regular general assembly, featuring a vote of the next effective year's council, discharge of the Treasurer, etc...

Candidacies to the administrative councils have to be submitted to the active council prior to the beginning of the general assembly. [[#Notes|[1]]]

All active members have active and passive election rights. [[#Notes|[2]]]
Please note that at least 2/3 (two thirds) of all active members will have to be present in order for a change of the statutes to be accepted [[#Notes|[3]]].

Also note that you can choose to be represented (and have your vote cast) by any other active member [[#Notes|[0]]].

You can do so by letting the council know of your decision and the person representing you by stating so in an email with a valid pgp signature or outfitting chosen person with a signed sheet of paper.

If you have any suggestions as to the order of the day, please submit them at least 48 hours before the General Assembly.
Yours faithfully,

* Breakfast
* Coffeemachine (mAcfreAk will bring Espresso and normal machine)

* We could sell some shirts too ;)

: I'm not sure if it would be a good idea / affordable to order one shirt of the most popular designs and have them on display? It would be quite expensive.. so maybe just 2 or 3 types. We don't actually want to sell them, so you could theoretically use yours ;) If people are interested, point them to the webshop or offer to order and have them pick it up when they arrive (advance payment of course)

* We should also include a donation pot for people who want to donate something to our ASBL.
* Do we already have some stuff that could be auctioned off?

Who?
Any hacker is welcome to give a hand. You do not need to show off your project(s) if you don't want to or don't have one right now. Simply be there with us in a relax atmosphere and enjoy a drink or two ;-)
