As the number of active Geocachers in syn2cat is growing, the time has come to call this activity in active duty. Once a month we'll pick out a day and gear up to find some caches.

As Geocaching doesn't just consists of seek and finding, we're also going to hide some of our own caches among the lands of Luxembourg and the world. Besides who says that the content of a box needs always to remain at the very same location?! Creativity knows no limits here. So feel free to join in, be it to get a look in side or to jump in and solve all the riddles out there.

[edit] What is Geocaching?

Geocaching isn't just about finding a tiny or big box with fancy content in it, but it also represents the spirit of respecting our environment and thus nature itself. While searching a cache in the beginning of a forest near a parking area, finding waste isn't much of a surprise, but would we pick it up if we weren't caching at this very moment?! Everyone just knows for himself, so whatsoever the answer is, the philosophy behind this activity teaches us to leave the place better than we found it i possible. Meaning: no need to succeed the task of the local waste disposal authority, but to take a few, or might it just be one piece of waste with you and smash it in the trash can. It will probably have no direct vast improvement on climate change or on peoples behaviour managing their disposals, but if every each of one is doing and teaching this as well as the sense of doing it right, may be some day we'll manage it to go & get caches without cleaning some places up first.
